Library Bound

The simplest form of traditional book-binding, library binding enhances both looks and lifespan.

Sometimes called case binding, library binding has long been used to give library books the strength they need to withstand years of often less-than-gentle treatment. At FG Marshall, we adopt the traditional techniques of sewing loose pages into blocks, called signatures, which in turn are sewn together, then placed in a sturdy cover, or case.

Our library bound books include:

  • Linen spines and decorated endpapers
  • Spines rounded and backed for greater strength
